The African Union/UN Hybrid operation in Darfur, referred to by its acronym UNAMID, has the protection of civilians as its core mandate, but is also tasked with contributing to security for humanitarian assistance, monitoring and verifying implementation of agreements, assisting an inclusive political process, contributing to the promotion of human rights and the rule of law, and monitoring and reporting on the situation along the borders with Chad and the Central African Republic (CAR).

Thailand is among 37 nations that have agreed to send troops to join the UN peacekeeping mission in Sudan.
Task Force 980 will stay in Sudan for three to four years as requested by the UN, with troop rotations every six months. About 800 Thai soldiers from various units joined the coalition forces of UNAMID peacekeepers since 2011 and still operating and maintaining peace and civilians protection throughout the area today.
Flyye Industries Thailand has the honor to sponsor the first rotation of entire Lopburi Special Force Units with Flyye Force Recon CIRAS. They are superior to the issued woodland Interceptor plate carriers which were given by the Thai army in many aspects. The QD sling system for fast release, various adjustable area, mobility and agility over Interceptor PC, molle system on the entire vest, stronger build with cordura fabric and color of Flyye CIRAS that matched with the environment and their uniforms very well.
The 2nd rotation of Lopburi Special Force will be deployed soon in September 2011 and has asked Flyye Thailand for a lighter and more agile plate carrier to use with the entire unit. In April, it was our greatest privilege, L4D was able to set up a mini workshop at Lopburi to give better insight for SF to decide suitable vest models considering many aspects which included limited budget and sizes of issued ballistic plates. Flyye PC Plate Carriers were chosen for the entire unit along with MBSS hydration backpacks and some molle platform belts.
Under priority order at Flyye Industries factory, they were finished by end of May and delivered to SF hands in June. We drove from Bangkok to Lopburi again to deliver them personally to express our sincere thanks for their support.
We wish our SF and the rest of Task Force 980 serving in Darfur today and the 2nd rotation that will be going soon to have safe journey there and back. We will be forever proud of your services in a greater cause of humanity and global peace.
